To Be Considered for Illustrating at Crossroads Publishing

Traditional or Modern.

If you do not have much experience in illustrating, though want to work on honing your craft, we do have a Beginner Illustration level available for authors to choose.  It is at a lower charge per illustration, however, gives the beginning illustrator experience for moving forward.  The other levels are Moderate Illustrations and Advanced Illustrations.  These both come at higher amounts charged per illustration due to experience level needed.  The author is allowed to choose which style they would prefer depending on how many pages are needed for the book, etc.

The illustrator is asked to provide one color rough draft sketch for the author to see their style.  There are no edits allowed on this rough draft sketch.  Once the illustrator would be chosen, the color illustrations are done five at a time in a four-week period for each set of five.  If the illustrator would need more than four weeks per set of five illustrations, that could be discussed and written into the Illustration Timeline.  This timeline would allow for two weeks at the end for a cover design if needed. 

The illustrator would receive half of the total due for the illustration and cover upfront after the rough draft sketch was approved.  The remaining half would be due upon approval of all of the illustrations and cover from the author.  The book would not be published until all of the fees were paid.
